Ian Bowles
Chief Executive

Ian joined Tribal in February 2016. He joined Tribal with a strong track record of driving financial and operational improvement and shareholder value creation, having held Board and other senior management positions across a number of leading IT companies.
Most recently he was from 2007 to 2015 Chief Executive Officer of Allocate Software, an AIM listed leading international provider of specialist workforce management optimisation and corporate governance, risk & compliance software, where he oversaw strong organic and acquisitive growth in revenue and profits and its sale to HgCapital in 2015.

Mark Pickett
Chief Financial Officer

Mark joined Tribal in July 2016 with many years’ experience in the technology industry. Previously he was Chief Financial Officer and Finance Director, UK of Computer Sciences Corp (‘CSC’), a US based global leader in technology enabled business solutions and services. Mark also spent 18 years in a variety of senior finance roles with Oracle across a number of geographies, primarily in its software businesses.

Jon Baldwin
Managing Director - Higher Education

Jon joined Tribal Group plc in May 2014 from Murdoch University in Perth having been the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Professional Services). Prior to his appointment at Murdoch, Jon spent almost eight years as Registrar at the University of Warwick.
Jon was Secretary and Registrar at UMIST from 2000 to 2004 and Registrar at the University of Wolverhampton from 1995 to 2000.
Jon has also held management, teaching and administration posts at Queen Margaret College, Edinburgh and Lancashire Polytechnic, as well as teaching at the Open University and in Further Education and publishing papers and articles on a wide range of education-related topics.

In the UK Jon is past President of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (ICSA), an Associate of the National Health Institute for Innovation & Improvement, a member of the Executive Committee of the Association of Heads of University Administration (AHUA), a former member of the Executive Committee of the Association of University Administrators (AUA), and has previously been a School and Further Education College Governor. Jon is a regular conference speaker and contributor to national and international debates.

Nick Stanley
Managing Director - APAC Region

Nick co-founded Sky Software in 2011 and grew it from 0 to a thriving global business in three years, following which it was acquired by Tribal Group (March 2014).  Nick was appointed as Managing Director of Tribal AsiaPac in June 2016 and will look to bring his 15+ years’ experience in information technology across the education sector to bear in providing quality outcomes to our clients in region.

 

Janet Tomlinson
Managing Director - Quality Assurance Solutions

Janet joined Tribal at the end of 2009. Prior to this, Janet was Director of Education and Children’s Services in Oxfordshire, responsible for all local authority services to children and young people. Previous positions include senior educational leadership and national school improvement roles in the private and public sectors and two head teacher posts.

Janet has chaired a range of regional partnership boards, including Children’s Trusts, Safeguarding Boards, Education Action Zones and Creative Partnerships. She has also advised the Government on the educational impact of migration and on school inspection policy.

Barbara Staruk
Managing Director - Product and Development

Barbara joined Tribal in February of 2015 moving to the Managing Director of Product and Development in July of 2015.
In almost 20 years of software industry experience, Barbara has led global market expansion, portfolio rationalisation and product transformation initiatives across multiple software product lines.

Prior to joining Tribal, Barbara was the Global Product Director for Optum International, the market leader in healthcare technology, analytics and software and services. Prior to her time with Optum, Barbara was responsible for the product management, product marketing and external development for Picis, a leading global high-acuity software solution, with market presence in over 20 countries.

Barbara has worked on large-scale government transformation programmes, such as the NHS’ National Programme for IT.
Educated in the US, Barbara began her career in the healthcare software industry, owning the implementation and support functions for several US-focused software businesses.

Mike Beech
Marketing Director

Mike joined Tribal in March 2016 and heads up Tribal’s global marketing team. Responsible for the strategic development of Tribal’s marketing initiatives and driving awareness of the Group’s portfolio of capabilities, Mike has the expertise, drive and enthusiasm needed to ‘tell the Tribal story’ world-wide. With a wealth of experience in marketing and the technology sector, Mike’s previous roles have seen him responsible for strategic product leadership, competitive and market analysis, branding, demand generation, press and analyst engagement, product management, and leading customer advisory boards.

Mark Wilson
Managing Director, EMEA

Mark joined Tribal in December 2016 as the Managing Director for the EMEA region. Mark is an experienced business leader having spent over twenty years in national and international roles in software and services businesses. In that time he has enjoyed great success driving transformation and helping his clients maximise the value to their organisations of deploying technology enabled solutions.

Before joining Tribal, Mark was the Professional Service Director and Interim Managing Director at Unit4, an ERP provider for the Service sector. Prior to that Mark held a Global Director role at Lumesse, a SaaS vendor of Enterprise HCM solutions, and enjoyed ten years with Siemens during which time he undertook a number of senior management positions.

 

Chris Farnath
Managing Director of Cloud and Support Services

Chris joined Tribal in August 2016 to lead the company’s cloud and support services, with a mission to deliver a timely and consistent customer experience, whether that be with solutions in the cloud environment or deployed on premise.

Chris is an internationally accomplished business leader with over 25 year’s technology services experience in the business-to-business sector. Having worked in Silicon Valley, California from 2000 to 2002, Chris lived through challenges such as Y2K, the Dot.com start-up bubble inflating and bursting and of course 9 -11 – all of which impacted the technology sector on a macro scale.

In previous roles, Chris was responsible for transformed failing customer support operations into highly effective customer success teams, committed to helping customers realise the benefits from their investment in their chosen technology.

Chris has a proven track record of success achieved by effective change management ensuring service delivery is relevant, timely and lasting.
