Training resources and support for professional development
Using our post-16 sector expertise and strong international experience we support a range of professional development initiatives, particularly those that are focused on mathematics teaching and learning. Building on our extensive experience of inspections, reviews and evaluations, we provide bespoke training to support preparation for Ofsted inspection, as well as whole organisation or department improvement. Many of our trainers are recent inspectors, all are experts in their field and are ideally placed to establish a thorough understanding of the purpose and nature of the review and evaluation process.
We understand the challenges faced by providers, and can tailor training programmes to fit your organisation's requirements.
We have produced a range of DVDs which feature realistic, natural footage of teaching and learning, together with staff and learner interviews, examples of lesson plans and learners' work.
Each DVD pack is supplied with guidance notes which enable the footage to be used for training purposes. These materials have been created by experienced consultants in order to create focussed opportunities to use the DVDs to promote discussion and reflection, supporting sustained improvement in further education and vocational settings.

The National Centre for Excellence in the Teaching of Mathematics (NCETM) is the national centre which supports the professional development of mathematics teachers across all phases of education. Tribal leads the consortium that manages NCETM on behalf of the Department for Education (DfE).
The NCETM is well established as England's leading source of authoritative and trusted information and guidance in all areas of mathematics education, from primary to post-16.
A dynamic web portal sits at the heart of NCETM activities and provides interactive, tailored tools within a professional learning framework. Registration with, and access to all the NCETM’s online resources, is free.
The NCETM coordinates the DfE-funded Maths Hubs programme , which brings together mathematics education professionals in a collaborative national network of 35 hubs, each locally led by an outstanding school or college. It is a new way of harnessing all maths leadership and expertise within an area, to develop and spread excellent practice, for the benefit of all pupils and students.
Education Training Foundation (ETF)
Tribal has worked on several projects with the Education Training Foundation (ETF), including The Maths Pipeline: a project that aims to raise the quality and professionalism of mathematics practitioners by establishing a Continuing Professional Development (CPD) infrastructure. It provides a range of tools and resources that enable practitioners, either individually or collaboratively, to identify their professional development needs in maths; research appropriate opportunities; build on their strengths and identify areas needing improvement.
